MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA men's hockey team faced the top-ranked team in the nation on Friday night at Lindenwood. The Lions defended their home ice with a 5-3 victory.
Lindenwood started the scoring with two goals in the first period.
Senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) scored with 21 seconds left in the first period as he streaked down the ice off a pass from junior Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.).
The Lions pushed the lead up to 4-1 with 10:47 left in the second period.
Garrett Wilderman struck again four minutes later after he intercepted a pass and scored.
The Falcons cut the led to 3-4 with a sharp-angled goal off the stick of senior McCarthy Clark (Chicago, Ill.) and an assist to sophomore Dominic Murano (Milwaukee, Wis.).
Lindenwood scored the final goal of the contest with 3:33 left in the game.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Saturday against Trine.
