ACHA Hockey Tops Trine in Weather-Shortened Contest

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA men's hockey team won a rare weather-shortened hockey game on Saturday against Trine. The Falcons were leading 5-0 after two periods when the outdoor game at the JOG Winter Classic when the game was called due to visibility issues.

Junior Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) started the scoring on Saturday in the fourth minute off an assist from Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.).

Emme lit the lamp seven minutes later with senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and Tommy Cassel adding the helpers.

With just over two minutes left in the first period, sophomore Dominic Murano added to the lead with sophomore Rocco Cicirello (Mequon, Wis.) and senior Andrew Malek (Milwaukee, Wis.) assisting on the play

Junior Owen Almburg (Glenville, Ill.) scored in the final minute of the first period to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead going into the break.

Garrett Wilderman scored the lone goal of the second period off Check Emme and Tommy Cassel assists.

Senior Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.) earned the victory for the Falcons in the net.

The Falcons close the JOG Winter Classic on Sunday afternoon against Maryville.
