ACHA Hockey Falls 7-2 to Schoolcraft

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia University Wisconsin ACHA hockey team (0-5) fell to the Schoolcraft Ocelots (3-2) 7-2 on Friday night at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

The Ocelots got on the board first at the 12:25 mark in the first period to grab a 1-0 lead.

However, the Falcons responded shortly after at the 16:05 mark, as sophomore forward Dylan Pomillo (Oswego, Ill.) found the back of the net to tie the game. The goal was assisted by senior forward Rocco Cicirello (Mequon, Wis.) and senior goalkeeper Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.).

Schoolcraft added another goal at the 16:40 mark to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second period.

In the second frame, the Ocelots' offense broke the game open, scoring four unanswered goals to go ahead 6-1 going into the final period.

Schoolcraft netted its seventh goal of the game in the third period to extend its lead to 7-1. 

Cicirello scored his team's second goal of the night at the 17:02 mark, but the Falcons could not come back from the five-goal deficit as they lost their fifth game of the season. The goal was assisted by junior defender Nolan O'Malley (Chicago, Ill.) and Bartell.

Bartell finished with 47 saves on the night, and his two assists were his first of the year. Pomillo's goal was his fourth of the season, and Cicerello's goal was his first of the year.

The Falcons will host the Ocelots again on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CST for Homecoming.
