MADISON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team picked up a big non-conference victory over Wartburg on Saturday. The Falcons picked up a 5-2 victory to improve to 5-1 on the young season.
The duo of junior Renan Revite (São Bernardo do campo, Brazil) and freshman Gustavo Funo (Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) picked up a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Sophomore Hayden Latus (Waukesha, Wis.) and freshman Murilo Zeni (Curitiba, Brazil) secured the 7-6 victory at No. 1 doubles to secure the doubles point.
Hayden Latus topped Robert Matera at No. 1 singles, 6-7, 6-2, 1-0.
Murilo Zeni zapped Cole Palese at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-6.
At No. 3 singles, Renan Revite ran over Milan Lecic, 6-2, 6-2.
Gustavo Funo sank John Gustafson at No. 4 singles, 6-7, 6-3, 1-0.
The Knights claimed victories at No. 5 and 6 singles.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday at Wheaton.
