HAMMOND, Ind. – The 2025-2026 CUW ACHA men's ice hockey season ended in heartbreaking fashion on Saturday afternoon, with a trip to the ACHA Division II National Tournament on the line, The Falcons fell to Schoolcraft in overtime, 2-1.
Senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) started the scoring on Saturday off a senior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) assist in the first period.
Schoolcraft tied the game in the second period.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net and the teams skated to overtime.
A fourth trip to nationals was not meant to be when the Ocelots scored in overtime.
Schoolcraft outshot Concordia on Saturday, 62-15.
Senior Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.) finished with 60 saves.
No. 3 Schoolcraft joins No. 13 Michigan State, No. 6 Wisconsin and No. 2 St. Thomas as the central region representatives at nationals.
The Falcons finish the season at 22-15.
