DE PERE, Wis. – The Falcons fought for 40 minutes on Saturday afternoon against the first-place Green Knights of St. Norbert on Saturday afternoon. The Green Knights improved to 13-6 and 11-1 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with a 53-42 victory.
St. Norbert secured an early lead and never let it go.
The Falcons cut the SNC lead to a one-possession game halfway through the second quarter with a pair of free throws from freshman Isabela Gunderson (Waukesha, Wis.) at 13-15, but the Green Knights closed the quarter on a 6-0 run, taking a 21-13 lead into halftime.
CUW used a 5-0 run with basket by freshman Amya Pluess (Burlington, Wis.) and Isabela Gunderson to cut into the SNC lead in the third quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Concordia clipped the deficit to 10 points on three different occasions.
Isabela Gunderson led the Falcons with 15 points. Junior Andrea Butterbrodt (Green Bay, Wis.) led CUW with five rebounds to go with her 11 points.
The Falcons are back in action again on Wednesday night at home against Illinois Tech.
