CLERMONT, Fla. – The Falcons played outside for the first time in 2026 on Sunday at the Spring Games. The Concordia Wisconsin softball team moved to 3-3 on the season with a 10-0 victory over John Jay and a 0-8 loss to No. 1 Trine.
The Falcons started the scoring on Sunday against John Jay in the first inning with a deep ball to center field from senior Rylie DuVal (Elgin, Ill.) that scored junior Jenna Shadoski (Janesville, Wis.).
In the second inning, senior Julia Moker (Richfield, Wis.) dropped a single to right field that cleared the bases of junior Jenna Lischka (Manitowoc, Wis.) and junior Emma Shellstrom (San Diego, Calif.).
Senior Maggie Plahmer (Slinger, Wis.) smacked a single through the left side of the infield to land Rylie DuVal on home plate.
The Birds scored four runs in the fourth inning on Sunday morning.
Rylie Duval struck again with a double through the left side with the bases loaded to send in Julia Moker and Jenna Shadoski.
Sophomore Anya Weiler (Hudson, Wis.) then sent a shot to shortstop that allowed Jenna Shadoski to cross home plate.
A wild pitch then scored Rylie DuVal.
A single up the middle for freshman Faith Keiper (Tomball, Texas) in the fifth inning scored senior Nora Statz (Helenville, Wis.) from second base.
The scoring ended on the bat of junior Isa Bruno (Chicago, Ill.) with a single to right field so Faith Keiper could trot home.
The Bloodhounds couldn't sniff Emma Shellstrom in the circle on Sunday morning. The pride of San Diego had two strikeouts in four inning and only allowed one hit. Junior Kylie Strupp (Slinger, Wis.) had a strikeout in one inning.
Nine different Falcons recorded a hit in game one, Rylie DuVal led the contest with two hits.
The Falcons were fast on the base paths on Sunday with five stolen bases.
Sunday was the second time in the very short season that the Falcons have faced a top-five team.
The Blue and White started with a 1-2-3 inning against the top-ranked Thunder to start the afternoon.
Trine started the scoring in the second inning with a double steal to strike first.
The bright orb in the sky was not friendly to the Falcons in the third inning, allowing two more runs to score.
The Falcons put a runner in scoring position in the third inning when Rylie DuVal had the first Falcon hit of the game to center field to send Jenna Shadoski to second base.
The sun aided the Thunder again in the fourth inning to help score another run.
Trine added four more runs in the top of the sixth inning.
The Falcons threatened late when Maggie Plahmer had a three-foot single and advanced to second on a throwing error. Isa Bruno pushed Plahmer to third base and Nora Statz advanced to second base to add another runner in scoring position, but two strikeouts ended the threat.
Faith Keiper had a strong outing in the circle against the nation's best team with only five hits on the day. She also had one strikeout.
The Falcons will play Susquehanna and Neumann on Monday morning.
