Falcons Fall to No. 11 Aurora Friday Night

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's volleyball team dropped a close match to No. 11 Aurora, 3–1, on Friday night. With the result, the Falcons move to 2-13 overall and 2-4 in conference play.

The Falcons opened the match with a statement, stunning the Spartans by taking the first set 26-24. The teams battled point-for-point early in the contest, but a kill from sophomore Reid Scott (Chandler, Ariz.) followed by an Aurora attack error sealed the set for Concordia Wisconsin.

Aurora responded by taking the next three sets, but the Falcons continued to battle throughout the match against the nationally ranked opponent.

Sophomore Owen Kolozsy (Carol Stream, Ill.) led the Falcons offensively with 11 kills while hitting .235. Scott also reached double figures with 10 kills. Sophomore Hayden Hurley (Gilbert, Ariz.) recorded his first double-double of his career, finishing with 36 assists and 11 digs.

Senior Tate Miller (Anthem, Ariz.) added 11 digs and led the Royal Blue and Grey with two service aces. Freshman Cooper Dammann (Altadena, Calif.) served as the primary libero and finished with seven digs.

At the net, CUW totaled eight blocks. Senior Chase Ammons (Elm Grove, Wis.) and Scott each recorded three block assists, while senior Will Wood (Savage, Minn.), sophomore Parker Butterfass (Shakopee, Minn.), and Miller added solo blocks.
