MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's lacrosse team opened the 2026 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference calendar on Wednesday afternoon on a sunny day at Aurora. The Spartans defended their home turf with a 17-4 victory on the day. The loss sends Concordia to 2-5 on the year.
Aurora struck first on the warm Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Katelyn Cardinale (Mount Laurel, N.J.) tied the game at one when she scooped up a pass from junior Emily Robertson (Canton, Mich.) and scored from five yards out.
The Black and Blue scored the next seven goals to reclaim the lead.
Katelyn Cardinale stopped the Spartan streak with a goal with 4:29 left in the first half.
Aurora responded with a 6-0 run over the next 15 minutes.
Junior Carolyn Bourgeault (Buffalo, N.Y.) scored late in the third quarter with a shot in front of the net off a pass from senior Makayla Spejcher (Green Bay, Wis.).
Katelyn Cardinale started the fourth-quarter scoring off a pass from Carolyn Bourgeault from behind the net.
The Spartans held a 39-7 advantage in shots on Wednesday. Katelyn Cardinale led the Falcons with three shots, with all three scoring. Cardinale also collected five ground balls and four draw controls.
Junior Naomi Black (Ottawa, Ontario) caused three turnovers on the afternoon.
Junior Parks Cawthray (Oakville, Ontario) had 13 saves and five ground balls.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Saturday at Cornell.
