MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin women's tennis team fell in a non-conference matchup to UW-Oshkosh on Saturday afternoon.

The meeting marked just the second all-time between the two programs. With the loss, the series is now even at 1-1, as the Falcons drop to 6-13 overall while remaining 5-3 in NACC play.

In doubles action, the Falcons battled closely in two flights. The pairings of freshman
Abigail Haley (Frohna, Mo.) and sophomore
Katelyn de Guzman (Belvidere, Ill.), along with sophomore
Ruth Dolde (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and freshman
Samantha Mudra (Dubuque, Iowa), each dropped competitive 6-4 decisions. Junior
Payton Steward (Appleton, Wis.) and freshman
Taylor Weiner (Bakersfield, Calif.) fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-0.

At No. 3 singles, Haley showed resilience after dropping the opening set 6-0. The freshman responded by forcing a third set before ultimately falling 10-5 in the match tiebreak.

Steward (6-1, 6-0), Dolde (6-0, 6-1), de Guzman (6-3, 6-4), Weiner (6-3, 6-3), and Mudra (6-4, 6-1) were also defeated in straight sets as UW-Oshkosh secured the team victory.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, April 18, when they host North Park in their regular season finale. First serve is set for noon at the CUW Tennis Courts. Concordia Wisconsin will then host MSOE in the NACC Quarterfinals on Monday, April 27.
