CHICAGO – The Concordia Wisconsin men's tennis team traveled to the Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday for the final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) road match of the season. The Scarlet Hawks secured at least a share of the NACC title with a 5-2 victory and sent Concordia to 11-6 on the year and to 2-3 in conference play.
The Scarlet Hawks started the day taking all three doubles courts on Saturday.
Freshman Renan Botelho (Itatiba, Brazil) picked up a 7-5 victory over Hozumi Tada by retirement at No. 5 singles.
At No. 2 singles, freshman Murilo Zeni (Curitiba, Brazil) zapped Pedro Caro Accino Roca, 7-5, 6-0.
The Falcons can clinch a home NACC Tournament Quarterfinal match with a victory on Sunday against Wisconsin Lutheran, or an Edgewood loss to MSOE. CUW and Edgewood will play in the NACC Tournament Quarterfinals on April 28.
