Mackaylan McGown Named CUW Female Athlete of the Year

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Department of Athletics has announced Mackaylan McGown of the Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey program as the recipient of the 2025-26 Female Athlete of the Year Award, recognizing a remarkable season defined by perseverance, steady progression, and championship-level success.

A junior center from Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, also put together a standout campaign as one of the nation's top centers. She recorded 37 points, including a program-record 20 goals along with 17 assists.

McGown scored five game-winning goals against Trine, MSOE, Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Lawrence, and Marian, and added the team's lone shorthanded goal of the season against Beloit. She dominated the faceoff circle, winning 401 draws, finishing second in the nation and ranked 11th nationally in goals per game (0.71).

McGown earned CCM Hockey/ AHCA All-American honors. She was also voted as the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Co-Player of the Year, while also earning All-NCHA honors and the NCHA Player of the Month title in January.

Female Career Achievement Award – Ainara Sainz de Rozas

Male Athlete of the Year Award – Logan Landers

Locke Family Coach of the Year Award – Friday (June 12)
