Falcons Return to NACC Tournament, Earn Multiple Postseason Honors in 2025

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin women's soccer team put together a successful 2025 campaign, finishing with a 9-8-3 overall record and an 8-4 mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The Falcons secured a fifth-place finish in the conference standings and earned a spot in the NACC Tournament.

Concordia's postseason run came to an end in the quarterfinal round, where the Falcons battled fourth-seeded Dominican before falling by a narrow 2-1 score. Despite the result, the appearance highlighted the program's continued competitiveness within the conference and capped a season filled with individual and team accomplishments.

Offensively, the Falcons were led by one of the conference's most dynamic freshmen in Koffy'e Chappel. Chappel appeared in 19 matches and made 10 starts, leading the team with nine goals and four assists. Her impact was immediate, helping spark the Falcons attack throughout the season while emerging as one of the NACC's top young players.

Jacey Read provided another consistent offensive presence, starting all 20 matches and finishing second on the team with six goals while leading the Falcons with eight assists. Read's ability to create scoring opportunities and contribute offensively played a significant role in Concordia's success throughout the year.

In goal, Kara Claussner anchored the Falcons' defense with 124 saves and a .765 save percentage. The goalkeeper allowed 38 goals while consistently delivering key performances that helped keep Concordia competitive in conference play and throughout the postseason push.

The Falcons' success was reflected in the conference awards announced following the season. Chappel earned NACC Freshman of the Year honors and was selected to the NACC First Team All-Conference squad after her standout debut season. Lanie Czerkies and Brei Rozmiarek were both named NACC Second Team All-Conference selections, while Read earned NACC Honorable Mention recognition.

Rozmiarek also received NACC All-Tournament Team honors following her performance in the conference tournament.

Concordia's accomplishments extended beyond conference recognition. Chappel and Czerkies were both named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Women's All-Region VIII Third Team, earning regional recognition for their outstanding seasons.

The Falcons also excelled in the classroom, matching the program record with six College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selections. Rozmiarek, Read, Hailey Whittow, Autumn Snow, Madi Schrader, and Czerkies were all recognized for their achievements both academically and athletically.

The 2025 season showcased the continued growth of the Concordia women's soccer program. With a return to the conference tournament, multiple all-conference performers, regional award winners, and academic standouts, the Falcons demonstrated success across all facets of the student-athlete experience.

As the Falcons look towards the 2026 season, the emergence of young talent alongside a strong veteran core provides excitement for what lies ahead.
