MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin women's cross country team put together another outstanding campaign in 2025, highlighted by three team victories, individual accolades, postseason success, and national representation.
The Falcons established themselves as one of the top programs in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) throughout the season, capturing team titles at the Tom Barry Invitational, Ken Weidt Classic, and Wisconsin Private College Championships.
Leading the charge was senior Emma Ahrens, who delivered one of the finest seasons in program history. Ahrens earned four NACC Student-Athlete of the Week honors during the season.
At the 2025 NACC Cross Country Championships, the Falcons placed second as a team while Ahrens claimed the individual conference championship. Concordia also placed two additional runners on the All-NACC team, with
Melanie Arvis finishing as the conference runner-up in second place and
Danielle Van Grinsven earning all-conference honors with a sixth-place finish.
The Falcons carried their success into the postseason at the NCAA Division III North Regional Championships, where they finished 14th overall against a highly competitive field. Ahrens earned All-Region honors with an eighth-place finish, while Arvis also secured All-Region recognition after placing 32nd.
Ahrens continued her remarkable season by qualifying individually for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships. Competing against the nation's best runners, she crossed the finish line in 58th place with a time of 22:18.9, bringing an impressive senior campaign to a close on the national stage.
The program's success extended beyond competition as Ahrens and Arvis were both recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom, earning USTFCCCA Academic Honors.
With three team championships, conference, regional, and national representation, the 2025 season showcased the continued strength of Concordia Wisconsin women's cross country.
