ANGOLA, Ind. - The Concordia University Wisconsin men's soccer team (1-2-1) drew with the Trine Thunder (1-2-1) 2-2 on Saturday afternoon to begin its three-game road trip.

The Falcons struck first and early. In the fourth minute, freshman midfielder Junior Omary (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) found the back of the net for his second goal in two games, putting his team up 1-0.

Concordia Wisconsin held Trine scoreless for the rest of the first half, heading into the locker room with the lead. The Falcons recorded five shots in the first frame with two on goal.

At the start of the second half, CUW drew a penalty kick, and it was junior midfielder Jahsiah Acosta (Milwaukee, Wis.) who stepped up to bury the penalty at the 47th minute to double his team's lead. It marked his first goal of the season and second in his career.

However, Trine responded shortly after in the 50th and 52nd minutes to tie up the match at 2-2.

Neither team was able to add to the scoresheet for the remainder of the game, resulting in the Falcons' first draw of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Connor Fitch (Eaton, Ohio) recorded a season-high five saves in the match.

The Birds will travel to Lisle, Illinois to face Benedictine on Wednesday, Sept. 16 for their first conference game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
