FONTANA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's triathlon team opened the 2026 season with a strong showing on Saturday morning at the Fontana Triathlon on Geneva Lake. The Falcons placed second in the team standings with 39 points and landed four competitors inside the top 10.
Senior Sydney Morgen (Brandon, Wis.) led the flock with a third-place finish, crossing the line in 1:27:27.05. Morgen opened the morning with an 18:25 swim before turning in a CUW-best bike time of 40:39. She continued her strong performance with a team-leading run time of 26:34 to secure the podium finish.
Junior Keira Elliot (Andover, Minn.) joined Morgen inside the top 10, finishing eighth overall at 1:31:58.82. Elliot flew through the water with a CUW-best swim time of 16:06 before clocking a 44:12 bike split and a 29:30 run.
Senior Cadia Sanders (Joppa, Md.) was right behind in ninth place at 1:33:55.82. Sanders came out of the water in 18:00, completed the bike portion in 43:36 and finished the run in 30:01.
Senior Anya Mattke (Fox Point, Wis.) gave the Falcons their fourth top-10 finisher of the morning, taking 10th place at 1:34:11.21. Mattke recorded a swim time of 17:28 and followed with a 42:35 bike split before completing the run in 32:09.
Senior Jada Gresens (Sun Prairie, Wis.) followed in 11th place. Gresens completed the swim in 21:29 before posting a 42:14 bike split and a 28:26 run.
Freshman Helene Hendrickson (Fort Wayne, Ind.) made her collegiate debut with a 12th-place finish at 1:38:15.72. Hendrickson recorded splits of 18:10 in the swim, 46:00 on the bike and 31:42 on the run.
Sophomore Lydia Boehlke (High Ridge, Mo.) crossed the finish line in 13th place at 1:38:55.06. Boehlke completed the swim in 20:40, posted a 43:44 bike split and closed the morning with a 32:18 run.
Senior Chloe Lemoine (Richfield, Wis.) rounded out the Falcons' lineup in 14th place at 1:39:00.82. Lemoine finished the swim in 19:47, cruised through the bike portion in 43:28 and capped the race with a 32:32 run.
The Falcons return to action on Oct. 2 at the Prairie State Cup in Decatur, Illinois.
