HAMMOND, Ind. – The Falcons battled hard for 60 minutes on Saturday night and fought until the final whistle but fell at Purdue Northwest on Saturday night, 2-3. The Falcons move to 0-2 on the young season.
The Lions struck first on Saturday night with a pair of goals to open round two of the weekend series.
The Falcons leveled the game at two with a pair of power-play goals in the second period.
Junior Evan Neitzel (Oshkosh, Wis.) deflected in a shot from junior Michael Anderson (Mequon, Wis.).
Minutes later, sophomore Dylan Pomillo (Oswego, Ill.) netted his third goal of the weekend with a power-play goal off an assist from senior Rocco Cicirello (Mequon, Wis.).
Purdue Northwest broke the tie with the game-winning goal in the third period.
For the second night in a row, senior Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.) stood tall in the net with 55 saves.
The Falcons return home on Friday night and will host the Wisconsin Badgers.
