MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's tennis team concluded a busy weekend in dominant fashion on Sunday afternoon. Under the impeccable coaching of Ricki Budewitz, the Falcons improved to 5-0 on the year and 4-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with a 7-0 victory over Marian.
The Falcons dropped only six games across doubles and singles play on Sunday.
Sophomore Abigail Haley (Frohna, Mo.) and sophomore Taylor Weiner (Bakersfield, Calif.) struck first with a 6-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
At No. 1 doubles, the dynamic freshman duo of Taylor Peterson (Manitowoc, Wis.) and Jordin Popp (Manitowoc, Wis.) silenced the Sabres, 6-1.
Freshman Samantha Behling (Brookfield, Wis.) and senior Payton Steward (Appleton, Wis.) brought out the brooms in doubles play on court two with a 6-1 victory.
Popp picked up the first singles point at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Monserrat Luquin.
Haley hammered Jennifer Pierga at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Steward swept away Savannah Clark at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Behling bested Jillian Traver at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Junior Katelyn de Guzman (Belvidere, Ill.) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Angela Barrass at No. 6 singles.
Peterson closed the book on the Sabres at No. 3 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Hannah Bade.
The Falcons return to action on Wednesday when they travel to MSOE.
