Emily Schoessow completed her 15th season as head coach of the Concordia University Wisconsin women’s lacrosse program in 2025. Since founding the program in 2011, she has built the Falcons into a perennial contender and one of the most consistent programs in the Midwest.
Under her leadership, CUW has captured three Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) Regular Season titles and two MWLC Tournament Championships. The Falcons went undefeated in league play during both the 2015 and 2016 seasons, stringing together a 28-game conference winning streak and earning back-to-back NCAA Division III Tournament appearances.
In 2024, Schoessow guided four Falcons to All-NACC honors, with Katelyn Cardinale earning First Team recognition, Ava Karlov and Eliana Fuchs making the Second Team, and Anna Gong receiving Honorable Mention. The 2023 season saw CUW finish second in the NACC standings with a 5-1 record, while Cardinale was named NACC Freshman of the Year. That same season, Cardinale, Brenna Bieniek, and Fuchs landed First Team All-NACC honors, and Gong was named to the Second Team.
Named MWLC Coach of the Year in 2015, Schoessow has coached some of the top players in program history. Lauren Paquin was a two-time MWLC Midfielder of the Year, MWLC Rookie of the Year, and a four-time All-MWLC First Team selection who also earned IWLCA All-Region honors twice. Allison Kurek became one of the league’s most decorated players, earning MWLC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season, three All-Region nods, and four consecutive First Team All-MWLC selections. Hannah Redden was tabbed MWLC Offensive Player of the Year, while Sammi Reiter collected IWLCA All-Region honors and was named MWLC Offensive Player of the Year, MWLC Newcomer of the Year, and a three-time All-MWLC performer. In total, Schoessow has coached 46 All-MWLC selections.
Schoessow steadily built the program from the ground up. After a winless inaugural season in 2011, the Falcons earned their first wins in 2012, reached the MWLC Tournament in 2013, and finished third in the league by 2014. The team’s breakthrough came in 2015 and 2016, marking a golden era with multiple championships and NCAA Tournament berths.
As a student-athlete, Schoessow was a four-year member of both the women’s lacrosse and ice hockey programs at Connecticut College, serving as captain for both teams. She was twice named to the IWLCA All-Region team as a junior and senior. Lacrosse has been a lifelong passion for Schoessow—her mother has served as the head women’s lacrosse coach at Williams College for over 27 years.
