Falcons- Raiders play to 0-0 draw
Mequon
Both coaches expected it to be a tight, hard-fought match with
the first goal being the key to victory. That first goal never
came to be, however, as Concordia and MSOE battled to a 0-0 tie
yesterday in the rain at Fitting Field.
Both teams are also very strong this year and neither makes many
mistakes in the back which is why the talented opposing goalies
combined for only 13 saves in 110 minutes of action.
"It was tale of two halves," said Tom Saleska. "The wind was a
factor and we had that wind in the second half, but could not take
advantage of excellent opportunities."
MSOE, now 8-0-1 in the NAC, has a date with undefeated Dominican
Saturday plus a Lakeland encounter the following Tuesday, while the
Falcons (7-1-1) have WLC and Edgewood remaining on their
conference schedule.
Concordia can finish second, third, or fourth in the league
depending on the outcome of those contests. If Nationally-ranked
Dominican defeats MSOE and the Falcons win their final two
contests, then CUW can finish no worse than a tie for second
place.
