Mequon Oh where oh where has the offense all gone? A late
second half penalty kick by Thomas Anderson was all of the Senior
Day scoring Concordia could muster in a 1-1 tie with Wisconsin
Lutheran on Saturday. "We had so many opportunities (24
shots)-it's really frustrating! Clearly we were the better team
but...credit Wisconsin Lutheran" The Falcons have just two goals to
show for their last 420 minutes of playing time and only stalwart
defense has kept CUW among the top 4 teams in the NAC playoff
picture. Included in the drought have been a 3-0 shutout at
Dominican, a 1-0 win at lowly Rockford, a 0-0 stalemate with MSOE,
and the most recent 1-1 draw with WLC. Tom Saleska's booters (7-1-2
in the league) will finish either 3rd or 4th in regular season
league standings depending on the outcome of their home match with
Edgewood next Tuesday. Dominican (10-0-0) defeated MSOE (8-1-1) in
the first place Saturday showdown so Concordia, playing without
four starters, lost a golden opportunity to move into a second
place tie. Edgewood, currently fourth in the league at 8-2-0,
remains on the schedule. The Warriors lone goal also came by way
of a penalty kick. The Falcons wrap-up the regular season on
Tuesday at 3:30pm vs. Edgewood College.
