The Falcons had a great look at what would have been the winning
shot at the end of regulation, but it did not fall. Then overtime
whistles did away with any chance of a victory tonight in the Buuck
Fieldhouse against the UW-Platteville Pioneers.
Concordia bolted to a 29-19 lead and still held a 31-24 margin
at the break, but fouls began to take their toll as both of CUW's
starting guards fouled out.
Freshman Ashleigh Galligan had her best game as a Falcon with 15
points and a trio of teammates reached double figures, but
Platteville (8-2) had three players with 17 points each and hit 9
of 12 overtime charity tosses.
CUW was whistled for 25 fouls on the evening and the 51
turnovers between the two squads were mostly caused by tenacious
man-man defense.
Stacey Brunner's squad (5-4) gets a brief Christmas respite
before heading to Daytona Beach, Florida for games against UW-
Stevens Point (December 28th) and Tufts (December 29th). It's "out
of the frying pan- into the fire" as both holiday opponents are
receiving National recognition.
