Kenosha
Carthage and CUW spent 110 minutes of scoreless soccer
determining what both coaches knew going into the contest. "We
appear to be pretty evenly matched," had quipped Falcon mentor Tom
Saleska. Concordia (1-1-2) had the better of play in the opening
half last evening, but host Carthage (1-1-2) took control of the
midfield in the later stages as CUW wore down. "We just hung on at
the end," was Saleska's assessment. "We have held up fairly well
against some strong early-season opposition and have had good
leadership."
Goalie Tom Anderson had 10 saves for the Falcons while Carthage
netminder Taao Scarnato needed to make six stops. The Red Men got
off 8 shots in the two 10 minute overtime sessions and hit the top
bar on one of those efforts. CUW hosts UW- Superior on Sunday at
1:00pm in another non-conference clash.
