Lakeland looked primed to pull off an upset at the half, leading
Concordia 38-37, but the athletic Falcons (13-2 overall) erupted
after the break and rode an immediate 12-0 three minute run to a
95-84 win tonight in the Buuck Fieldhouse.
Falcon second half leads reached 17 points on several occasions but
the Muskies (now 8-7) kept it interesting without really
threatening.
Concordia featured incredible balance as six Falcon players scored
9 or more points.
Mitchell Schneider led the way with 19 but ten separate players
scored for Shawn Cassidy's troops and team depth was clearly a
factor as the game wore on.
CUW, not known for 3 point shooting, was also a blistering 12 of 21
from long range. Schneider and Nick Doedens were each 3-4 from
distance.
Jack Ridgeway led all scorers with 32 for Lakeland, including 6 of
9 from beyond the arc.
Concordia will try to protect a perfect 9-0 NAC record when the
Falcons host Edgewood on Thursday.
