Jumping out to an 8-0 lead, the Concordia women's hockey team
held on to defeat Marian 8-2 on Wednesday night in Fond du Lac.
Jaime Athens scored two goals and registered one assist for a
Falcons squad that saw seven different players light the lamp
(Steph Boehm, Amber Cmejla, Hilary Christiansen, Alisha Java, Sarah
Lichtie, Sarah Hubacher and Athens).
By the time all was said and done, the Falcons had outshot the
Sabres 44-23 with goaltender Katie Hirsch notching 21 saves in the
victory.
Having improved to 9-7-1 overall and 7-4-1 in the NCHA, the
Falcons will look to build on their five-game winning streak Friday
when they host Lake Forest. Face-off is slated for 7:30pm at the
Ozaukee Ice Center.
