Tonight's Northern Athletics Conference women's basketball matchup
in the R. John Buuck Field House pits the outside shooting of the
visiting Marian University Sabres versus the Concordia University
Wisconsin Falcon's defensive pressure and team balance.
Perimeter-oriented Marian (7-3
overall) has launched 250 3-pointers on the season and connected on
36 percent of those attempts.
The Sabres, who are 4-3 in league
play, average 66 points per game while allowing 56.
Senior guard Alexis Becker averages
16.1 for MU, while junior forward Liz Zutz is scoring 12.1 points
per contest.
Sharp-shooting Sabre Sarah Albert
has connected on 27-of-51 3-point attempts and is averaging 10
points per game.
CUW is scoring 63 points and
allowing 53 per outing. Junior guard Tiffany Hendrickson
(Ingleside, Ill.) and sophomore forward Katie Luethe (Oshkosh,
Wis.) lead CUW offensively at 13.4 and 12.2 points per game,
respectively.
After tonight's 6:00 p.m. game, CUW
(6-3, 6-1 NAC) heads to Las Vegas, Nev., for the D3Hoops.com
Classic on December 27th and 28th. There the Falcons will play
Eureka College and No. 1-ranked and defending national champions
Amherst College.
