Wis. - Concordia University Wisconsin's GRAND OPENING
celebration of the new hockey facility next to the Ozaukee Ice
Center in Cedarburg, Wis., is set for tonight, beginning at 5:30
p.m. The CUW's men's hockey team will host Gustavus Adolphus
College at 8 p.m.
The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting
ceremony, free open skate, facility tours, plus exhibitions
featuring Wisconsin figure skating club members and National Ice
Dance competitors Christian Erwin and Kenzie Reid of Brookfield.
National freestyle competitor Samantha Puhl of Mequon will also
skate.
Between periods of the CUW versus GAC matchup, CUW
hockey will sponsor SCORE A GOAL and CHUCK
A PUCK competitions for special commemorative prizes.
The new facility, with current
seating for 1000 spectators (maximum capacity of 1,500 with
standing room only), includes locker rooms for the men's and
women's team, coach's offices, athletic training room, laundry
room, and storage area for both programs. The Falcons shared locker
rooms with local high school programs in the past.
