Mequon -
Just when you think you've heard/seen it all when it comes to
weather and Concordia athletics, the fog rolls in and suspends a
baseball doubleheader. That's the story from Thursday afternoon, as
the Falcons and St. Norbert College Green Knights will look to
continue their doubleheader at a future date/time.
Game one was in the top of the sixth inning, when the Green
Knights hit the baseball to the outfield. No one - not even the
outfielders - could see the ball (which may still be somewhere in
the outfield resting), so it was decided to suspend the game with
St. Norbert winning 13-5.
As of right now, none of the stats are official from the game -
but everyone is hopeful that the two teams will be able to find a
date in which to continue and finish the first game and then play
game two. If the two teams cannot agree on a date, then the first
game will officially go down as a Green Knights victory. As always,
stay tuned to cuwfalcons.com for scheduling updates.
