OSHKOSH, Wis. -
Concordia University Wisconsin's volleyball team was swept by Ripon
College (25-18, 25-17, 25-17) and
Martin Luther College (25-15, 25-20, 25-16) during the final day of
the UW-Oshkosh Invitational at the Kolf Sports Center.
The Falcons (1-12) hit
.167 against the Red Hawks as junior Amanda Stahmann (Van Dyne,
Wis.) led the way with seven kills. Freshman Hannah Griffiths
(Antigo, Wis.) also recorded six kills, while senior Amy Gray
(Urbana, Ill.) finished with 10 assists.
CUW fell behind early in the
opening set before going neck-and-neck with the Knights in set two.
Martin Luther pulled away in the third frame during the final match
of the Invitational. Seniors Brittany Deinlein (New Berlin, Wis.)
and Amanda Wilke (Oak Creek, Wis.) each recorded 12 kills, while
sophomore Ashley Faber (Kewaskum, Wis.) tallied 13 assists.
CUW returns to action on Tuesday
when it hosts a Northern Athletics Conference contest against
Maranatha Baptist Bible College at 7 p.m. at the R. John Buuck
Field House.
