Men's Soccer unable to overcome first-half deficit against NACC-leading MSOE

MILWAUKEE – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference's leading scorer, Logan Andryk, scored two goals in helping lead is conference-leading MSOE squad to a 2-0 win over the Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Soccer team Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.

Andryk scored two unassisted goals (15:17 and 25:02) to lead the Raiders to a 7-0-0 league mark, dropping the Falcons to 3-4-0 in the conference in the process.

CUW struggled to get things going offensively, being held to nine shots in the match. The Falcons were playing without junior Keegan Van Dusseldorp (Burlington, Wis.), a player who leads the NACC in shots. Freshman Luis Loya (Bolingbrook, Ill.) led the Falcons with three in the match, while fellow freshman Jake Swihart (Oostburg, Wis.) fired a pair of shots.

Senior Eric Vogel (Itasca, Ill.) did finish the match with five saves in playing all 90:00 for the Falcons. His counterpart, Garrett Farin, stopped all three shots he faced in picking up his conference-leading 13th win of the season.

The two squads were whistled for a combined 43 fouls with five yellow cards being issued as well. The Falcons committed 20 fouls and were carded twice, while MSOE totaled 23 fouls and three yellow cards.

The Raiders posted 11 shots, seven of those on goal. Andryk led all players with five shots, while his younger brother, Braden, recorded three.

CUW (5-10-1, 3-4-0 NACC) will return to the pitch Tuesday afternoon in a home matchup against Wisconsin Lutheran College. The Falcons and Warriors are set for a 3:30 p.m. start from Fitting Field.
