NEWSWORTHY NOTES
- A SPARK FROM DOWNTOWN: Concordia Wisconsin has struggled at times this season from outside the arc, but Thursday night's game could be the spark they need going forward. A season-high 10 3-pointers fell against Edgewood, with Baylee Barker making five and Arianna Liddicoat draining four.
- BUSY WEEK: The Falcons contest against Alverno ends a busy three-game week. It is the first of two times this season they will play three games in the same week, with the other being the week of January 22-28.
- BARKER GETTING AN OPPORTUNITY: Baylee Barker started 12 games during her rookie campaign and played well at times. This season she didn't have the strongest start and entered the game from the bench, however, because of an injury to a teammate has been thrust into the starting lineup. Barker started the last two games and averaged 14.5 points on 47.8 percent from the field.
- VALUING THE BASKETBALL: Every coach wants their team to take care of the ball and not commit turnovers, while forcing havoc on the opposition. The Falcons take that message to heart on both ends of the court and over the last seven games have committed 48 fewer turnovers (88-136).
- FINALLY RETURNING HOME: It has been a while and will be exactly one month since last playing at home for Concordia Wisconsin. This season they are 5-0 at home, winning by an average of 18.6 points. During head coach Stacey Brunner-Jones tenure they are an impressive 114-36 (76.0 percent) inside the R. John Buuck Field House.
