GLENDALE, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin normally doesn't compete in many close matches, but on Thursday night they earned a close 5-4 non-conference victory over St. Scholastica at the Paley Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons, known for their success in recent years, had to gut out a close 5-4 decision against the Saints in non-conference play. The win put them back to 3-3 during the spring portion of their schedule.
- Concordia Wisconsin fell behind after doubles play, 2-1, which included an Ashley Solberg (junior, Waukesha, Wis.) and Bailey Kelly (junior, Racine, Wis.) picked up an 8-6 win for its first point.
- Singles play was controlled by the Falcons, who won four of the six matches, and many of them weren't easy wins.
- Solberg (junior, Waukesha, Wis.) earned a 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 win at No. 1 singles, while senior Elizabeth Carroll (Hartford, Wis.) captured a 6-0, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory at No. 2 singles.
- Sophomore Emma Sievers (Slinger, Wis.) had a 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-2) win at No. 4 singles and sophomore Rebekah Spiegelhoff (Mount Pleasant, Wis.) recorded a 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 1-0 (10-7) victory at No. 6 singles.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- The Falcons are 3-0 this season in matches that end in a 5-4 score and the current senior class is 7-5 in the one-point matches.
- Seniors Sabine Jacobsen (Palatine, Ill.) and Hannah Tresedder (Kingsford, Mich.) are each four matches away from owning the most doubles wins in a career in program history (2006-07-present).
