Hammond, Ind. – The CUW ACHA men's hockey team fell short on the road on Friday night at Purdue Northwest, 7-5.
The Pride opened the game with a 2-0 lead through the first period.
The Falcons regained the lead with goals from freshman John Swiatek (Rochester, N.Y.), sophomore Trenton Sherman (Farmington, Minn.) and sophomore Scott Gregor (Ashland, Wis.).
PNW responded with four unanswered goals.
The Blue and White cut into the deficit with goals from senior Wyatt Wilderman (Bear Dance, Mont.) and sophomore Connor Doyle (Naples, Fla.).
The Pride scored an empty-net goal to secure the victory.
Sophomore Mack Willy (Tacoma, Wash.) had 23 saves on the night.
CUW will look to level the series on Saturday.
