MEQUON, Wis. - The Eagles were able to put the first run on the board for the first game of the series.
The Falcons would secure their first run on an error. Junior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) would cross home plate.
Senior Sam Zarling (West Bend, Wis.) would single through the left side to allow junior Jared Chesak (West Bend, Wis.) to score.
Junior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) would send Zarling home on an error.
Junior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) would send a ball out to center, allowing sophomore Cade Jahns (Ripon, Wis.) home.
Kosobucki would blast a three run homerun, allowing Beers and junior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) home as well.
The second inning would end with the Falcons leading Edgewood 8-1.
No runs would be scored until Kosobucki hit another homerun in the bottom of the fifth to advance the Falcons to a 9-1 lead.
Jahns would the walk on loaded basses, allowing junior Tristan Largent (Verona, Wis.) to head home.
The fans would see Largent in the bottom of the sixth with a bunt to send Beers home.
Chesak would send one out to left field, allowing Tillmon to score.
Senior Drew Johnson (Menasha, Wis.) would triple down the right field line, allowing Largent and Kosobuck to score.
Johnson would finish the bottom of the sixth with a run to home on a wild pitch.
The Eagles would score one last run in the top of the seventh, but would fall short to the Falcons 15-2.
Sophomore Tyler Drezek (West Allis, Wis.) would secure the win for the Falcons, pitching all seven innings.
Drezek threw 65 strikes and saw 31 batters from his time on the mound.
Shortly after, the second game of the series would be underway at Kapco Park.
This time the Falcons would score first with a single from Beers in the bottom of the first to let Haakenson score.
The Eagles would light a fire and send in two runs at the top of the second.
The Falcons would counter that with a single out to right field by Johnson, allowing Largent to score and tie the game at two.
Edgewood would score three runs in the top of the third.
Kosobucki would ground out to second, allowing Beers to score in the bottom of the third.
Largent would send Tillmon home in the bottom of the third.
The Falcons would trail 5-4 heading into the fourth inning.
Edgewood would slip away with another homerun in the top of the fifth to increase their lead 7-4.
The Falcons would come back to tie the game at 7 with runs from Tillmon, Largent, and Kosobucki in the bottom of the fifth.
Edgewood would come away with nine more runs in two innings to conclude the game at the end of the seventh.
The Falcons lose the second game 16-7.
