MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW football team wrapped up non-conference play on Saturday with a 35-20 victory over Judson. CUW finished the non-conference portion of the schedule at 2-0.
The Falcons struck first on Saturday with an 18-yard toss into the end zone for senior Devin Shibiliski (Union Grove, Wis.) from senior James Linn (Chino Hills, Calif.).
Linn threw his second touchdown pass of the first quarter to senior Tim Houlihan (Lockport, Ill.) for a 25-yard connect to give the Falcons the lead after the first 15 minutes.
The Falcons regained the lead in the second quarter on a two-yard rush from senior Matt Montgomery (Hillsboro, Texas) to give the Falcons a 21-20 lead into halftime.
The Concordia defense turned off the lights for the Eagles in the second half and did not allow a point in the second half.
Sophomore Samuel Campbell Jr. (Milwaukee, Wis.) caught a 22-yard pass from James Linn to extend the lead in the third quarter.
Sophomore Ryley McCreary (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.) put a bow on the victory with a blocked punt that he returned six yards for a touchdown.
James Linn led the Falcons with 223 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. He also led the ground game for the Blue and White.
Samuel Campbell Jr. led the air attack with 89 yards on five catches.
The CUW defense intercepted four Judson passes on Saturday, with junior Evan Lischka (Manitowoc, Wis.) picking off two. Senior Gabe Christenson (Kewaskum, Wis.) and sophomore Justice Kaneta (Brighton, Colo.) also had an interception to their names in the victory.
The Falcons finished with seven sacks and Troy Stewart led the defense with 11 tackles.
The Blue and White open NACC play on Saturday against Benedictine.
