MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW men's basketball team continued their streak of close matchups with a one-possession game against the Edgewood Eagles inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse.

The Blue and White honored the senior class of 2023 and their commitment and dedication to the program on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons came out hot with senior Jared Jurss (Sheboygan, Wis.) netting the first five points for the Falcons with a layup and a three-pointer to take the 5-0 lead.

The Eagles jumped out to a 19-7 lead early in the first half and followed that up with their biggest lead of the game at 10:35 in the first half with a score of 25-11.

The Blue and White fought back and went into the break with a score of 32-39.

Jurss led the Falcons with nine points in the first half. His layup at the 4:03 mark of the first half pushed him over the 1,000-point threshold for his career.

 The Eagles and the Falcons traded blows in the second half, but it all came down to the final minute of a game tied at 75.

Senior Gabe Pruss (North Fond Du Lac, Wis.) converted the and-one to take the one-point lead.

A pair of Eagle free throws gave them the 77-76 lead.  

Two free throws from Jurss sealed the Falcon victory at 78-77. He led the Falcons with 21 points. He added seven assists and three rebounds.  

Senior Freeman Jackson (Green Bay, Wis.) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. 

Freshman Jack Fritz (Columbus, Wis.) led the bench scorers with eight points.

The Blue and White continue their home stand with a matchup against Dominican on Tuesday.
