GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team wrapped up the weekend road trip on Sunday afternoon at DePauw. The Tigers improved to 9-6 with the 3-0 victory. The Falcons fall to 2-12 on the year with the loss.

The Tigers took advantage of a turnover deep in the Concordia defensive end and scored in the third minute of the game.

The Falcons' lone shot of the first quarter came from sophomore Grace Partain (Springfield, Va.) as she crashed the net near the far post and the shot that was deflected out off a pass from senior Paige Armijo (Reseda, Calif.).

The Blue and White had an opportunity after a DePauw green card and junior Katelyn Cardinale (Mount Laurel, N.J.) had a high shot that was saved off a penalty corner from sophomore Leah Mouganis (Pittsburgh, Pa.).

The Tigers took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

The Concordia defense was able to fight off a yellow card that lasted into the third quarter.

DePauw took advantage of another CUW turnover deep in the Falcons' defensive end as the Tigers charged the net and tapped in a rebound for the second goal of the game in the 38th minute.

The Black and Gold thought that they struck again after keeping the ball in the circle after a penalty corner but the Tigers left early. DePauw did tally the third goal of the contest in the 43rd minute off a penalty corner.

DePauw carried the 3-0 lead into the final quarter.

The Falcons opened the fourth quarter with junior Katie Quirke (Antioch, Ill.) placing a shot on the DePauw goalie and then a second opportunity for Paige Armijo that went just left of the cage.

The Falcons had a look at a penalty corner with a shot from Paige Armijo, who had a defender stopping the shot before it went into the net.

Freshman Carlijn van der Bend (Voorburg, Netherlands) finished with eight saves.

The Tigers held a 23-5 advantage in shots on Sunday and a 10-3 advantage in penalty corners.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday for the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference finale against Rhodes at Tomasini Stadium.
