MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team closed the home portion of the 2024 season on a beautiful Saturday afternoon on the shores of Lake Michigan. The Lynx of Rhodes spoiled the day with an 8-1 victory to remain undefeated in the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference.
The Lynx opened the contest with three goals in the first 10 minutes.
The Falcons scored in the 11th minute when freshman Naomi Little (Hartland, Wis.) lobbed the ball into the cage.
Rhodes closed the game on a 5-0 run.
Junior Katelyn Cardinale (Mount Laurel, N.J.) led the flock with two shots on Saturday.
Both sophomore Parks Cawthray (Oakville, Ontario) and freshman Carlijn van der Bend (Voorburg, Netherlands) finished with 11 saves each.
With the loss, the Falcons move to 2-12 on the year and finish CFHC play in sixth place at 0-5. The Falcons will play in the second quarterfinal contest against the No. 3 seed.
The Falcons close the regular season on Saturday at Marian for a non-conference contest.
