MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey team remained unblemished in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play with a victory at the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Friday night. The Falcons improve to 4-2-0 on the year and to 3-0-0 in the NCHA with the 3-1 victory on Friday night.
Senior Erika Graham (Brighton, Mich.) started the scoring in the first period when she stole the puck and scored a short-handed goal 3:45 into the contest.
Both goaltenders did not allow a goal in the second period.
MSOE leveled the game with a goal 4:15 into the third period.
Senior Brooke Gibson (LaSalle, Ontario) scored on a two-on-one with the eventual game-winning goal with junior Makayla Spejcher (Green Bay, Wis.) with a secondary assist to senior Natalie Mackrell (Florissant, Colo.) with just over minutes left in the contest.
A minute later, sophomore Brenna-Grace Dittmer (Chatham-Kent, Ontario) scored the final goal off a rebound of a shot from freshman Taylor Heleniak (Mercer, Wis.) and a pass from senior Olivia Kurtz (Plainfield, Ill.).
The Falcons held a 46-9 advantage on shots on Friday.
Senior Kami McCardle (Jackson, Wis.) collected eight saves in the win.
Concordia was able to not allow a power-play goal on five penalties.
Makayla Spejcher led the contest with six shots.
The Falcons go for the sweep on Saturday afternoon at the Ozaukee Ice Center.
