BROOKFIELD, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin ACHA men's hockey team wrapped up the road portion of the Northern Collegiate Hockey League schedule late on Friday night. The Falcons picked up a 7-1 victory to move into second place in the NCHL Black Division at 7-2-0 and improved to 19-7-0 on the year.
Junior Dominic Murano (Milwaukee, Wis.) started the scoring when he struck from the slot off a pass from sophomore Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.).
The Falcons then scored on the power play when senior Andrew Malek (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored right next to the net off a rebound of a shot from Chuck Emme.
Senior Tommy Cassel (Grafton, Wis.) lit the lamp in the final minute of the first period off a pass from senior Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) and a cross-ice pass from senior Rex Staudacher (Yorkville, Ill.).
Garrett Wilderman started the second-period scoring off a faceoff victory from Tommy Cassel.
The Golden Eagles landed on the scoreboard with a powerplay goal halfway through the second period.
Andrew Malek snuck the puck past the keepers' right side off a pass from Tommy Cassel in the third period off another long feed from Rex Staudacher.
Tommy Cassel scored on the power play off tic-tac-toe passes from Rex Staudacher and Dominic Murano.
The Falcons capitalized on the power play again when Chuck Emme scored from the near circle off an assist to Dominic Murano.
Junior Austin Bartell (New Berlin, Wis.) earned the victory in the net on Friday night.
The Falcons will go for the sweep on Saturday night on Mental Health Awareness night.
