MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team celebrated its two seniors on the morning of Homecoming with a game against Centre. The Colonels defeated the Falcons, 0-4, in the first Collegiate Field Hockey Conference game of the season. Seniors

Katie Quirke were honored for their dedication to the field hockey program and the athletics department.

The Colonels found the net first in the 19th minute and continued their offensive pressure for the rest of the game. In goal to start the game was
Carlijn van der Bend for the Falcons' defense. Van de Bend faced 15 shots and collected nine saves.
Parks Cawthray subbed in goal for the final quarter of the contest.

The CUW offense was able to push back with six shots, four on goal. Leading the team in shots was freshman
Bente Scheeres (Noorwijk, Netherlands). Scheeres attempted two shots, with one being on goal. Four other Falcons were able to get a shot off.

Concordia Wisconsin will head east to play Mary Washington and Goucher. Up first will be Mary Washington on Saturday, October 18, at 11 a.m. CT in Fredericksburg, Va. The team will then travel north to Baltimore, Md., to play Goucher on Sunday, October 19, at noon ET.
