Field Hockey Celebrates Senior Day During Homecoming Weekend

MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team celebrated its two seniors on the morning of Homecoming with a game against Centre. The Colonels defeated the Falcons, 0-4, in the first Collegiate Field Hockey Conference game of the season. Seniors Katelyn Cardinale and Katie Quirke were honored for their dedication to the field hockey program and the athletics department.

The Colonels found the net first in the 19th minute and continued their offensive pressure for the rest of the game. In goal to start the game was Carlijn van der Bend for the Falcons' defense. Van de Bend faced 15 shots and collected nine saves. Parks Cawthray subbed in goal for the final quarter of the contest.

The CUW offense was able to push back with six shots, four on goal. Leading the team in shots was freshman Bente Scheeres (Noorwijk, Netherlands). Scheeres attempted two shots, with one being on goal. Four other Falcons were able to get a shot off.
