MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's ACHA D2 team was defeated by Indiana, 5-2, in their second game at the CUW Showcase. This is the second straight year that the team has hosted this event, and is now 1-1 on the weekend.
Â
IU got off to a hot start scoring four goals in the first period. Hoping to kick-start the Falcons' offense was sophomore
Dominic Murano scored shorthanded goal nine minutes into the period. Murano swiped the puck as the Hosiers were setting up a shot. The graduate student took the puck the length of the ice himself before sending a slapshot past the visitors' goalie.
Â
The game was at, 5-1, in favor of Indiana. Just eight seconds into the third period the Falcons scored. After the Hosiers won the faceoff, junior
Chuck Emme (Glenview, Ill.) intercepted an IU pass. Emme tipped the puck to Murano who scored his second goal of the night. Despite closing in the gap, the IU lead was too much for the Royal Blue & Grey to overcome.
Â
The Falcons had 26 shots; Murano led the team with seven. Graduate student
Garrett Wilderman (Waukesha, Wis.) finished with five shots. On defense, senior
Austin Bartell (Bew Berlin, Wis.) made his seventh straight start for CUW. Bartell collected 29 saves in 34 shots faced.

Concordia Wisconsin will conclude the CUW Showcase with a game against Michigan State. The contest will begin at 12:15 p.m. at the Ozaukee Ice Center.
