MEQUON, Wis. - The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer team fell to Illinois Tech, 2-3, after a close contest. The Falcons are now 3-10-3 and 2-7-1 in conference play.

During halftime, the squad celebrated its three seniors,
Enrique Torres,
Lukas Olson, and
Frank Budederi. These three Falcons were honored for their dedication and commitment to the men's soccer program and the university.

The Scarlet Hawks got on the board quickly with two goals in the first 20 minutes, the second goal of which came from a penalty kick. Twelve minutes after the IIT penalty kick, CUW earned one of its own. Sophomore
Nevin Volarath (Algonquin, Ill.) took the kick, but it was blocked by the visitor's goalie. As the ball rebounded, Volarath took another shot, this time finding the back of the net. This was the sophomores ' fifth goal of the year.

There was a shift in the game as the second half ended, a Scarelt Hawk received a red card. This gave the Falcons an edge, as the visitors had to play a man down for the rest of the contest.

With the score still 1-2, the Royal Blue and Grey pushed forward through hard winds to tie the game. At the 69-minute mark, senior
Lukas Olson (Eau Claire, Wis.) scored with an assist from freshman
Matthew Payne (Franklin, Ind.). This was Olson's first goal of the season, and only his fifth in his career.

The hope of a tie was interrupted by Illinois Tech with a goal in the final 18 seconds of the game.

Concordia Wisconsin finished the match with 12 shots, six on target. Leading the team was Volarath with four shots, two on target. Sophomore
Jahsiah Acosta (Milwaukee, Wis.) had three shots with one on goal.

In goal for the Falcons was senior
Enrique Torres (Eau Claire, Wis.). Torres collected six saves while facing 19 shots from the Scarlet Hawks.

CUW will conclude the season on the road with late games. First up will be against Lakeland on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. in Plymouth, Wis. They will follow with a contest at Marian next Wednesday in Fond du Lac, Wis., with the start time also being 7 p.m.
