MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Concordia Wisconsin en's hockey team dropped the puck on the 2025-2026 season on Friday night. The Cobbers of Concordia Moorhead claimed the game one victory with a 5-2 victory.
The Cobbers struck first with a pair of goals in the first period on Friday.
The Maroon and Gold struck again at the 7:53 mark of the second period to hold a 3-0 lead.
Junior Elowan Orme-Lynch (Paris, France) struck on the power play in front of the net off a push near the post from senior Grant Newcomer (McFarland, Wis.) from the far post off an original shot from freshman Kieran Ronan (New Hartford, N.Y.).
Orme-Lynch lit the lamp again from the slot two minutes later after Kieran Ronan left him the puck.
Moorhead finished with two power play goals to claim the victory.
CCM held a 23-20 advantage in shots on Friday.
Sophomore Cameron Hrdlicka (Calgary, Alberta) finished with 18 saves on the evening.
The Falcons look to tie the series on Saturday and take the Concordia Cup.
