Men’s Soccer Cruises at Concordia Chicago

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's soccer team collected three key points in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons picked up a 2-1 victory against the Cougars to improve to 2-7-3 on the year and to four points in the NACC standings at 1-4-1.

The Falcons struck first on Wednesday is the 28th minute when freshman Matthew Payne (Franklin, Ind.) chipped the ball over the keepers' head for his first collegiate goal off an assist from sophomore Jahsiah Acosta (Milwaukee, Wis.).

The Blue and White held a 1-0 lead going into halftime.

The Birds struck again in the 53rd minute off the boot of sophomore Harris Burgos (Milwaukee, Wis.) as he danced around a defender from eight yards out with Matthew Payne adding the assist.

The Cougars cut the CUW lead in half with a goal in the 58th minute.

The Cougars held an 18-14 advantage in shots on Wednesday evening.

Senior Enrique Torres (Eau Claire, Wis.) finished with four saves at Concordia Chicago.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday at MSOE
