FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin field hockey team wrapped up the 2025 regular season on Saturday at Marian. The Sabres sent the Falcons to 4-10 on the year and 0-5 in the Collegiate Field Hockey Conference with a 4-0 result.
The Sabres came out swinging and had six shots in the first quarter, but junior Parks Cawthray (Oakville, Ontario) stood tall and posted five saves.
In the 24th minute, the Falcons had their first shot of the game with a blast from senior Katie Quirke (Antioch, Ill.) off a penalty corner from junior Bella Vandeloecht (St. Louis, Mo.).
The two teams went into the break tied at zero.
The Falcons had the first quality look of the third quarter with a shot from sophomore Naomi Little (Hartland, Wis.) off a corner in the 33rd minute, but it was the Sabres finding the back of the cage in the 37th minute.
A pair of penalty corners in the fourth quarter led to shots for Naomi Little and junior Leah Mouganis (Pittsburgh, Pa.), but Marian scored three goals in the final frame.
Senior Katelyn Cardinale (Mount Laurel, N.J.) claimed the final shot of the day that was saved.
The Sabres had a 16-6 advantage in shots on Saturday.
Cawthray came up with seven saves at Marian on Saturday, with junior Maddie Rider (Danville, Pa.) recording a defensive save.
The two teams split the regular season series and will meet in the rubber match on Thursday in the CFHC Tournament Quarterfinals in Fond du Lac. The game is slated for 2:00 at Smith Field.
