WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's volleyball team wrapped up the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons downed the Green and White, 25-11, 22-25, 25-17, 22-25, 15-12.
Senior Brianna Lundt (Rosendale, Wis.) beat up the Warriors with her serve in the first set and sparked a 7-0 run for the Falcons to take an 8-4 lead. The Falcons never flinched from their and cruised to a 25-11 victory, with senior Abby Proefrock (Grafton, Wis.) pounding a final kill at 25-11.
The second set was much tighter with neither team being able to build a lead bigger than two points until the Green and White won the final two points of the set and claimed the set at 25-22.
The Falcons used an 8-1 run to get some separation in the third set and elevate the lead ti 12-7 with a service ace from senior Paige Stickney (Menomonee Falls, Wis.). The Falcons ended the set at 25-17 with a kill form senior Ashley Habermehl (Brookfield, Wis.).
The Warriors kept the match alive with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.
The fifth and final set proved to be another battle, with neither team able to much of a lead. The Warriors inched closer to a victory with a 12-11 lead, but it was all Concordia to end the match with a 4-0 run to clinch the match.
Ashley Habermehl led the Falcons with 12 kills on Saturday.
Abby Proefrock finished with a double-double outing with 10 kills and 10 digs.
Brianna Lundt continued to prove that she is the best defender in the NACC with 21 digs in the victory.
Senior Noelle Smith (Davenport, Iowa) finished with five blocks. Sophomore McKenna Oetzman (Reedsburg, Wis.) led the Birds with 24 assists.
The Falcons close the road portion of the regular season on Thursday at Marian.
