RIPON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's track & field team opened their 2025-26 season at the Ripon Winter Open on Saturday, placing fourth with 42 points in a 10-team field. St. Norbert won the meet with 107 points. Also competing were Bryant & Stratton, Carroll, Edgewood, Lawrence, Ripon, Viterbo, and two club programs.
Kyle Steiner led the Falcons with 14 points, highlighted by a victory in the 60-meter dash in 7.03 seconds. He added a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.70 meters.
Senior
Brandon Donahue (Hubertus, Wis.) delivered a strong performance in the 60-meter hurdles, placing fourth while setting personal bests in both the prelims and finals. His top time of the day came in the final at 8.92 seconds.
In the sprints, freshman
Alex Spartz finished seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.19. The Falcons also saw PRs in the 300-meter dash from juniors
Josh Sipes (9th, 39.25) and
Aaron Klug (14th, 40.84).
In field events, freshman
Cooper Parent (O'Fallon, Mo.) made an impressive collegiate debut with a third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 3.35 meters. At the long jump pit, senior
Seth Stolz (Traverse City, Mich.) took fourth with a leap of 6.74 meters. CUW added more points in the triple jump as sophomore
Lucas Mathes (12.37m) and Klug (11.36m) placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Falcons' throwers combined for five points. Sophomore
Hayden Kettmann (Beecher, Ill.) placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 12.51 meters, while senior
John Kutner (Muskego, Wis.) added a seventh-place finish in the weight throw at 13.07 meters.
Concordia Wisconsin will return to action after the holiday break, opening 2026 at the Pat Heenan Invitational hosted by North Central at the Al B. Carius Track in Naperville, Ill.
