MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin men's track & field team put together another successful campaign during the 2025-26 season, combining record-breaking performances, conference podium finishes, and team success throughout both the indoor and outdoor seasons. The Falcons continued to make their mark in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, finishing sixth at the NACC Indoor Championships before improving to a third-place finish outdoors while producing conference champions, All-Region performers, and CSC Academic All-District selections.
The indoor season began with a fourth-place finish at the Ripon Winter Open and steadily built momentum throughout the winter. One of the season's biggest milestones came at the UWO Titan Challenge on February 21 when Kyle Steiner sprinted to a school-record time of 22.35 seconds in the 200-meter dash, etching his name into the program's record book.
Concordia's top indoor team performance came at the NACC Indoor Championships, where the Falcons placed sixth overall. Zach Wendland headlined the meet by winning the heptathlon with a school-record of 4,656 points, showcasing his versatility across seven events.
Isaiah Lubner added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters, while the Falcons' 4x400-meter relay team raced to a third-place finish. Lubner's outstanding indoor campaign earned him All-Region honors in the 800 meters.
The Falcons carried that momentum into the outdoor season, opening with a fourth-place finish at the Early Bird Invite before claiming the team title at Beloit Relays. As the season progressed, Concordia consistently found itself near the top of the team standings, setting the stage for a strong showing at the conference championships.
Concordia closed the season with an impressive third-place finish at the NACC Outdoor Championships behind several standout performances. Wendland was named the NACC Track Athlete of the Meet after capturing the conference championship in the 400-meter dash while also earning a silver medal in the high jump and a bronze medal in the javelin throw. The Falcons also claimed a conference title in the 4x400-meter relay, highlighting the team's depth and strength in the sprint events.
Steiner continued his breakout season by earning runner-up finishes in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, while Lubner once again reached the podium with a second-place finish in the 800 meters and a third-place finish in the 1,500 meters.
Dayne Baker rounded out the Falcons' medal winners with a third-place finish in the discus throw.
Lubner added another memorable chapter to his season by twice breaking his own school record in the 800 meters. He first lowered the program mark to 1:52.03 at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite on May 8 before returning one week later to improve it again with a blazing time of 1:51.49. His outstanding performances earned him Outdoor All-Region honors, giving him All-Region recognition in the 800 meters during both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
The Falcons' success extended beyond competition as four student-athletes were recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom. Steiner, Lubner, Lucas Mathes, and Wendland each earned CSC Academic All-District honors, reflecting the program's commitment to excellence both on the track and academically.
From school records and conference championships to regional recognition and academic success, the 2025-26 season showcased the continued growth of the Concordia Wisconsin men's track & field program. The Falcons once again proved they can compete with the conference's best while building a strong foundation for future success.
