MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's track & field team competed at two last chance meets on Thursday. The Falcon competed at the St. Olaf Manitou Last Chance Multi and the Wisconsin-La Crosse Final Qualifier. The Falcons posted two tremendous performances on Thursday
Junior Isaiah Lubner (Campbellsport, Wis.) entered the night ranked 54th in the nation after shattering his school record in the 800-meter run last weekend. He broke his record again on Thursday, cruising to first place at 1:51.49, breaking the previous record of 1:52.03. His time currently ranks 37th in the nation.
Junior Zach Wendland (Green Bay, Wis.) closed the two-day Manitou Last Chance Meet. On Wednesday, Wendland soared to second place with 3382 points, with career-best performances in the 100-meter dash, shot put and 400-meter dash.
He opened the day in the 110-meter hurdles taking the individual title at 16.11.
In the discus throw, Wendland posted a fifth-place finish at 28.52 meters.
The pole vault competition, he finished fourth at 3.85 meters, for a career-best performance.
Wendland claimed the crown in the javelin throw at 48.50 meters.
He closed the competition in the 1500-meter run in third place with a career-best time at 4:29.93.
Wendland finished the competition in second place with 6424 points the best performance of his career.
He ranks 28th in the nation with his performance in Minnesota.
Thursday marks the final day of the season for the Falcons.
